Privacy Policy
In short
- What the app sends off your iPhone: user identifier, device identifier, purchases.
- None of it is linked to your identity.
- No tracking: nothing is used to follow you across apps and websites of other companies.
- Nothing the app collects is used for advertising.
- Kept only on your iPhone: the videos you open, record or trace, and their edits (in the app’s own folder until you delete them); your tracer styles and settings; whether Pro is unlocked, so it works offline.
- You can have your data deleted: see “7. Deleting your data”.
1. Who we are
Ballarc is an iPhone app published by the developer of Ballarc (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the data this policy describes and can be reached at app.ballarc@proton.me.
2. What the app collects
This is everything the app collects, as its privacy manifest and its App Store privacy label declare it.
| Data | What it is | Used for | Linked to you | Used to track you | Received by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| User identifier | A random identifier made on your iPhone when the app first opens. It is not derived from your name, your Apple account or your device. | making the app work, for example unlocking what you bought | No | No | RevenueCat |
| Device identifier | The identifier for vendor: an identifier iOS gives to one developer’s apps on a device. | making the app work, for example unlocking what you bought | No | No | RevenueCat |
| Purchases | What you bought in the app: the product, price, currency and date, as confirmed by Apple | anonymous totals that tell us how the app is used or sells; making the app work, for example unlocking what you bought | No | No | RevenueCat |
3. What stays on your iPhone
Kept on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage, and not sent to us or anyone else:
- the videos you open, record or trace, and their edits (in the app’s own folder until you delete them)
- your tracer styles and settings
- whether Pro is unlocked, so it works offline
As for all app data, iOS may include it in your own iCloud or computer backups, under Apple’s terms and your settings.
4. System features the app uses
Apple asks every app to give its reason for using some system features. Ballarc uses:
- App settings storage (UserDefaults): to keep the app’s own settings and data, readable only by this app.
Using these features sends nothing off your iPhone.
5. Who receives data
Data goes only to the providers below, and only for the purposes in “2. What the app collects”.
| Provider | Role | Data | Where | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat | Checks the Pro purchase for the app and shows us anonymous purchase totals (our processor) | User identifier, Device identifier, Purchases | United States | Privacy policy |
| Apple | The App Store, payments and refunds | As described in Apple’s privacy policy and your settings | Worldwide | Privacy policy |
| Cloudflare | Hosts this website | IP address and request data, to deliver the pages | Worldwide | Privacy policy |
| Proton | Hosts our support mailbox | Emails you send us | Switzerland | Privacy policy |
6. How long data is kept
RevenueCat keeps the random identifier and its purchase record for as long as Pro must stay restorable, or until you ask us to delete them. Apple keeps its own purchase records under Apple’s privacy policy. Your videos and traces are never sent to us or to anyone else, so we hold none of them.
7. Deleting your data
- Everything the app keeps on your iPhone is deleted when you delete the app.
- The records RevenueCat keep are not linked to your identity, so we cannot look you up by name or email. Write to app.ballarc@proton.me with what you want deleted (for a purchase: its date and the order ID on Apple’s receipt email), and we will find the record and have it deleted.
- Apple keeps its own record of purchases, under Apple’s privacy policy.
8. Support emails and this website
If you write to us, we receive your email address and what you wrote, and use them only to answer you. We delete support emails when they are no longer needed, or when you ask.
This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and loads nothing from other sites. Its host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and standard request data to deliver and protect it.
9. Your rights
We use the data above only for the purposes this policy lists. We make no automated decisions about you.
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Swiss law, the CCPA in California, the LGPD in Brazil and similar laws, you may have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to app.ballarc@proton.me: we answer within one month, and it costs nothing. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.
We do not sell personal data, and do not share it for advertising.
10. Children
Ballarc is not directed at children and collects nothing beyond what this policy lists.
11. Changes
When the app or its providers change, we update this policy and the date at the top.
